Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities stated they were contacted by a individual who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say initial examinations show the liquid was probably human blood.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for tips.

A senior official stated the attack rendered him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in 2020.
